Gimp image size
I am taking a screenshot of my desktop in Gimp but for some reason the size of the image that I am getting is different from the size of the desktop.
The image that I am getting is approximately
295 x 190 pixels
while the desktop is
1920 x 1080 pixels
Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm on Ubuntu 11.10 and I'm using Ubuntu software center to install Gimp, do you think this could be the problem?
A:
That is the standard resolution of a 28" display.
Gnome has the same resolution as your display. If you are using the desktop environment, then it will show the same size of the screen.
If you are using GIMP (the image editor), then I don't know. It should use the same size as your screen.
Here is an image that shows the resolution of the desktop environment on my screen (GNOME Classic):
UPDATE
What Ubuntu Software Center shows is not the standard resolution of the screen. When you install an application with Ubuntu Software Center, GIMP is not installed. So you will see the default resolution of the screen (1280 x 1024).
You can also check this by opening System Settings and look at the resolution of the screen.
